Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to Iceland
On behalf of the Icelandic Ergonomics Society I would like to welcome you to the 40th Nordic Ergonomic Society conference. The conference will take place in Reykjavík, Iceland 11-13th of August 2008. Here you have a perfect opportunty to visit Iceland and to take part in a traditional international conference where practioners and researchers meet and discuss the latest ergonomical issues. In order to help develop research we facilitate the sharing of experiences and results, work, ideas and the formation of friendships and networks in the field of ergomomics.

The theme of the conference is Ergonomics is a lifestyle. We consider this a suitable topic in our fast changing environment and lifestyle. Facing the globalisation and fast changing technology in our everyday lives, we solve problems but are faced with others. Most people are concerned about their health and we know how different factors are influential in our life and on our health. Our opinion is that Ergonomics is a lifestyle. Consideration of the way we live our lives will affect our health and will make big differences at work or home.

We welcome all who are interested in the different aspects of ergonomics; mental, organisational, social, physical and technical to come and take part in the discussion on the latest and most important topics of ergonomics.

The conference language will be English.

Berglind Helgadóttir,
Chairman of the Icelandic Ergonomics Society
